The new Vortex series, introduced by a renowned American brand, includes three models – VX5, VX7, and VX9 – each combining advanced technology with rugged design for use in diverse environments.
Vortex detectors feature MD-MF multifrequency technology (from 5 to 25 kHz), usable as both single and simultaneous frequencies. Fully waterproof up to 5 meters, they are ideal for detecting on beaches, in rivers, and on wet terrain. Each model includes a pinpoint function for accurate object location.
All models come with a 21.5 x 28 cm Raider search coil, designed for all-around use. The three-piece shaft collapses to 63 cm and extends to 144 cm. Twist-locks ensure a firm, stable structure. The control panel is clear and intuitive, with backlighting for use in low-light conditions. The vibrant blue color enhances the modern, functional look.
The VX5 is perfect for newcomers and uniquely offers the ability to upgrade to VX7 or VX9 via software without replacing the detector. This allows users to expand their capabilities over time.
The VX5 operates with a 13 kHz single frequency and also supports simultaneous multifrequency. Ground balance is adjustable to ignore mineralization, while nails and other unwanted metals can be filtered out using notch/discrimination. Target identification is numeric (1–99) and also shown graphically. Three audio tones help distinguish between different types of metal. Four preset detection modes are available.
The VX7 provides additional control with two single frequencies (5 and 13 kHz) and two multifrequency programs, including one for saltwater environments. Response time can be set to two levels for improved depth or faster recovery. Dual target ID bars show ferrous and non-ferrous metals separately. It includes five audio tones and supports MS-3 Z-Lynk wireless headphones. An extra "Beach" mode further enhances performance on wet, salty beaches.
The VX9 introduces five individual frequencies (5, 9, 13, 18, and 25 kHz) in addition to two multifrequency modes. Three ID bars allow for highly detailed analysis: ferrous targets appear on the lower bar, precious metals on the middle bar, and ambiguous signals on the top. Response speed is adjustable in three steps. Additional modes include "Thin Coins" for fine, thin targets and "Fast" for rapid detection. In total, the VX9 offers seven search modes.
For general coin and jewelry hunting, 13 kHz is most efficient. Lower frequencies like 5 kHz are better for detecting larger, deeper targets, while high frequencies (18+ kHz) excel at locating small, shallow objects. All models support simultaneous multifrequency, combining the strengths of each frequency range for optimal detection across all types of ground conditions.
